Exhaust gas recirculation valve

The valve controls the quantity of exhaust gases fed to the air intake of the i.c. engine, with the valve element (18) cooperating with the valve seat (16) adjusted via a setting drive (22). The actual quantity of recycled exhaust gases fed to the air intake is detected by a measuring device downstream of the valve element and supplied to an evaluation device controlling the setting drive. Pref. the measuring device uses a flow restriction (43) downstream of the valve with associated pressure sensors (40,41) on either side of it.
