PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reliably prevent occurrence of inferior coating at the time of applying a viscid agent such as an adhesive discharged out of a nozzle to an object. SOLUTION: A coating apparatus is provided with a camera 26 for photographing an adhesive discharged out of the lower end of a nozzle 10 and a control apparatus 30 capable of controlling the stroke extent in the z-axis direction of a discharging unit 14, the elevation rate of the unit 14 or the temperature of the adhesive discharged out of the nozzle tip end as the operation extent possible to separate the threading of the adhesive based on the image obtained by photographing by the camera 26 and showing the state of the adhesive immediate after the application to a practically mounted substrate S.
