PURPOSE: A method for offering information related to abnormality of a battery on a portable computer is provided to enable a user or a developer to simply confirm/manage causes of battery abnormality by previously storing data such as problems, related causes, and solutions happened from the battery abnormality, and offering the related information when the battery abnormality is happened. CONSTITUTION: Battery status information is collected by periodically collecting entire battery status information in a self-gauge IC of the battery(S12). A guide message including the battery information from the previously stored battery related data and the collected battery status information is provided on a window(S13). The previously stored data includes the problems and the related causes/solutions happened from the battery abnormality.
