PURPOSE:To decide whether an image forming unit which is connected to a printing unit is a correct one being relevant to the printing unit, or not. CONSTITUTION:The subject image forming device consists of an image forming unit 3 which generates image data to correspond with image data which is received from an external unit, and a printing unit 4 which forms the image data generated by the image forming unit 3 on a photo conductive drum. At the image forming unit 3, the power source voltage from the printing unit 4 is divided by a voltage dividing circuit 98, and a voltage VO with the divided value is fed to the printing unit 4, and at the printing unit, a power source voltage Vcc is fed to the image forming unit 3. Whether the image forming unit 3 is correctly set or not is decided by judging whether the voltage value V0, which is fed from the image forming unit 3 in response to the feeding of the power source voltage Vcc, is in a specified range or not. |
