PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent sheets, etc. from being damaged in an image forming device capable of increasing the total sheet carrying capacity by removing a part of plural discharging trays. SOLUTION: This sheet discharging device in which plural sheet discharging parts for discharging sheets from the device body are arranged vertically in a line, is provided with a lower discharging part 125 or one of plural sheet discharging means, an upper discharging part 120 or a sheet discharging means arranged directly above the lower discharging part 125, and a lower discharging tray 126 capable of loading the sheets discharged from the lower discharging part 125 and the upper discharging part 120. When the sheets are discharged from the upper discharging part 120, driving of the lower discharging part 125 is adapted to be stopped.
