PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the amount of detergent charged as proper as possible even when there is water in a tank before starting operation and a set water level is changed during washing in a washing machine provided with a detergent charging device. SOLUTION: When a washing course including a process for automatically charging detergent using the detergent charging device is performed, an amount of detergent charged by the detergent charging device is stored until a water drain process immediately after a washing process is performed (steps S8, S19) to determine an amount of charging detergent required at this time based on the stored amount of charging detergent (steps S5, S15, S16).
