PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a traveling rack device capable of collecting each traveling rack in a predetermined section when an earthquake occurs, simplifying its structure, and reducing its cost. SOLUTION: This traveling rack device is provided with a plurality of traveling racks 10 on a rail 1 stretched along the forward and backward directions so as to run freely thereon. A flange 26a as a friction resistance providing means is provided on a front wheel 26 of a traveling rack 10A arranged on a front side more than the center of the rail, and a flange 26a as a friction resistance providing means is provided on a rear wheel 26 of a traveling rack 10B arranged on a rear side to restrict forward travel in the traveling rack 10A on the front side and restrict backward travel of the traveling rack 10B on the rear side to gather them at the center of the rail when a shock due to the earthquake occurs.
