The mechanism has a push button (2) and a force transmission unit (4) movably guided in a longitudinal direction, so that impulse movement of the button is initiated in a switching actuator (10). The unit is swivelable by pivoted and crank levers (9, 17), so that a moving direction of the unit (4) is angularly aligned to the impulse movement. The levers are coupled with a drive shaft (11) of a commutator and/or with adjacent commutator.
