PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow the content of a program recorded in recording media to be confirmed certainly. SOLUTION: An image signal of a program recorded in an image/voice recording means 13 is separately extracted by an image capture/compression means 20 at a predetermined timing. The extracted image information is compressed so as to constitute small picture information, and is sequentially stored real-time in a small picture information memory means 21 together with a voice signal corresponding to the extracted image information. The small picture information stored in the small picture information memory means 21 is read out to display a plurality of pieces of picture information on one picture, and the plurality of pieces of displayed small picture information are selected with a cursor to read out the voice signal corresponding to the picture and output them as voice, thereby, the content of the recorded program can be certainly confirmed.
