PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tape cutting mechanism able to cut a tape member at a specific position even in a simple tape cutting mechanism, and to provide a printer with the tape cutting mechanism.SOLUTION: A printer 10 includes: a tape storage portion for accommodating a roll-like tape member; a printing mechanism configured to perform printing on the tape member pulled out from the roll of tape member; and a tape cutting mechanism 41 configured to cut the printed tape member, wherein the tape cutting mechanism 41 has a cutter 51 movably fixed to a cutter support portion 43 formed in part of a housing, the cutter 51 has a sawteeth-like portion 55 on at least part of one edge from one end thereof to the other end, and the static position of the cutter 51 is determined such that the printer has an elastic member 49 fixed to the cutter support portion 43 at one end and to the cutter 51 at the other end. |
