<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate write delay of data at low gradation level. <P>SOLUTION: A pixel circuit 10 of the present invention includes: a drive transistor Tr5 which supplies a driving current to an organic EL element 12 connected to a current output terminal, a holding capacitor Cr which applies a predetermined voltage corresponding to accumulated charges to a current control terminal of the drive transistor Tr5; and a capacitive element Cs which transmits voltage variation supplied from a variable voltage source V<SB>dd</SB>to the current control terminal through capacitive coupling.
