Preparation of Compact Disc labels

The apparatus to identify a disc data carrier (1), such as a compact disc (CD), uses a self-adhesive printed label (2) with a central hole (8) on the opposite side (5) to the information carrying side (4), and a centering aid (9). The self-adhesive label extends as far as the edge (6) of the centre hole of the CD. The centering aid may be minimal at the side opposite the information carrying side. The central part of the CD case may be a truncated cone shape and also may have a variable height. The truncated cone central part may extend in to a second, larger cone shaped hole.
