Provided are an image capturing device, a flicker detection method, and a flicker detection program, by which flicker can be accurately detected even when an image of a bright subject is captured. A digital camera causes an MOS image capturing element 5 to perform multiple times of image capturing at an arbitrarily defined frame rate, and detects the presence or absence of flicker from a comparison between captured image signals read out from the image capturing element 5, respectively, during frame periods F1, F2 based on the frame rate. The end timing of a signal readout period in the frame period F1 is earlier than the end timing of the frame period F1, and the end timing of the signal readout period in the frame period F2 is the same as the end timing of the frame period F2. |
