The foil type pressure sensor comprises two laminated plastic support foils, with the first foil a semiconducting polymer (2) and the second having two conducing elements (3, 3') layered on it which are connected (4, 4') to one or more similar spatially distant pressure sensors (1). The conducting elements are in the form of combs (forming capacitative sensors) with the legs of the combs interspersed. The presence of a body on the sensors changes the spacing between the comb legs and therefore indicates the presence of an occupant. One of the conducting elements (3, 3') also serves as a heating element for warming the seat. |
