LIQUID CRYSTAL DEVICE AND ELECTRONIC APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal device which can easily be manufactured and can enhance image display characteristics or the like by composing an electrode pattern of a plurality of island-shaped parts and connection parts, and providing holes and alignment controlling means in prescribed positions of a color filter.

SOLUTION: The liquid crystal device is provided with: a first substrate having a first electrode pattern formed above the color filter; a second substrate having a second electrode pattern formed so as to be opposed to the first substrate; and a liquid crystal layer held between the first and the second substrates and composed of a liquid crystal material having negative dielectric anisotropy. The first or the second electrode pattern is composed of the plurality of island-shaped parts and connection parts for electrically connecting them in one pixel region and the color filter has holes in regions corresponding to central parts of the island-shaped parts and protrusions as alignment controlling means in regions corresponding to edges of the island-shaped parts.
