PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intake system of an internal combustion engine capable of certainly making an intake flow by an intake flow control valve into a tumble flow. SOLUTION: The intake system is equipped with a rotary shaft 7, provided at a downstream side of a flexure inside an intake passage 3 so as to traverse a flow path of intake air, in the intake passage 3 which has the flexure curved against a horizontal direction and is coupled to an intake port 1a of a cylinder head 1 and further is provided in an intake manifold. Besides, the intake system is provided with the intake flow control valve 5 which turns depending on an operative condition to control an intake flow supplied to the intake port 1a and is also provided with, at a position opposite to the intake flow control valve 5 which is disposed at an upstream side of the intake flow control valve 5 and at a totally-closing position thereof, and a current plate 9 whose rectifying surface is perpendicular to the rotary shaft 7 and is provided along the flow path of the intake air in an extending manner and whose downstream end is disposed at a given distance from the intake flow control valve.
