<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly display an image by using a small capacity of memory. <P>SOLUTION: When a display area for the whole image is changed, in terms of an overlap area, overlapping the pre-change display area, among post-change display areas, an image for display is used by being extracted from the present images for display in a VRAM 42, and in terms of nonoverlap area unoverlapping the pre-change display area, an image for display is used by being extracted from resized images prestored in an SDRAM 36, so that the image for display, corresponding to the post-change display area, can be generated. the image for display, corresponding to the post-change display area, can be generated and displayed at a relatively high speed by enabling higher-speed access to the VRAM 42 and SDRAM 36 than to, for example, an external memory wherein an original image is stored.
