A method of making a thread protector comprising the steps of: (a) light cutting of a metal sheet for forming a thread protector; (b) applying a punching step to the cut metal sheet until an appropriate size of workpiece is obtained; (c) metal-spinning the workpiece by mounting the workpiece onto the drive section of a lathe machine until a bowl like or cup shaped thread protector is obtained; (d) implementing a machining process to the workpiece until a thread protector is obtained.
