PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device capable of making a clear large screen display even when the device is close to the screen.SOLUTION: The image display device includes: an illumination optical system that radiates light emitted by a light source to image display elements; the image display elements which are irradiated with the illumination light from the illumination optical system, and form a projection image; and a projection optical system which has a positive refractive power in total, and projects the projection image formed by the image display elements to a projection object surface. The projection optical system includes a projection lens, a first mirror, and a second mirror which is a concave mirror. A projection light flux of the projection image which has transmitted through the projection lens and is incident to the first mirror is a divergent light flux. The projection light flux which has been reflected by the first mirror and then reflected by the second mirror is once condensed and then projected to the projection object surface. A lens surface of the lens closest to the first mirror among the projection lenses is a convex surface. |
