PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coil capable of obtaining high efficiency even in the same size as conventional ones, a wire rod to obtain a coil assembly from, a manufacturing method of the wire rod, and a manufacturing device of the wire rod. SOLUTION: The wire rod 12 has given unit parts consecutively formed. The unit part has a smaller cross section at one end than at the other, a cross-section area of each part consecutively decreasing as a height hc2 of a cross section of each part gets down to a height hc1 from that other end toward a direction of that one end, and the unit parts are continued as either one smaller cross-section end is connected with another or one larger cross-section end is connected with another, directly or indirectly.
