PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent belt slipping by a shortage of hydraulic pressure, in an idle stop control device for idly stopping an engine when stopping a vehicle having a belt type continuously variable transmission. SOLUTION: This idle stop control device is used for the vehicle having the belt type continuously variable transmission for variably controlling a groove width of a primary pulley by the hydraulic pressure, by extending a belt between the primary pulley connected to the engine side and a secondary pulley connected to the wheel shaft side; and idly stops the engine when stopping its vehicle. The device is characterized by having a detecting means for detecting the hydraulic pressure for controlling the groove width of the primary pulley, and idle stop prohibiting means (Step S4 and S5) for prohibiting an idle stop of the engine when determining that the hydraulic pressure does not satisfy required pressure by determining whether or not the hydraulic pressure for controlling the groove width of the primary pulley satisfies the preset required pressure.
