This clamping device for gripping and clamping a workpiece from both sides does not require a guide mechanism, an actuator, and a control system therefor and has a simple structure. A clamping head (20) has a structure including: a first member (22) constituting a clamping wall (36) and having a first protrusion (60) which is formed along the outer periphery of the clamping wall (36), protrudes to one side of the clamping wall (36), and surrounds the entire periphery of the clamping wall (36); and a second member (24) which has a piston chamber (38) formed therein, has a second protrusion (64) constituting outer side surfaces (70) facing the inner side surfaces (68) of the first protrusion (60), and defines an operating fluid chamber (34) between the clamping wall (36) and the second member (24). In the structure, the inner side surfaces (68) of the first protrusion (60) and the outer side surfaces (70) of the second protrusion (64), the inner and outer side surfaces (68, 70) facing each other, are joined together to connect the first member (22) and the second member (24). |
