A backlight unit of a display device and a method for assembling the same are provided to stably fix a light guiding plate within a cover bottom, by disposing a light guiding plate fixing member between the light guiding plate and the cover bottom within the cover bottom. A lamp assembly(106) is configured to generate a light. A light guiding plate(108) guides the light, which is emitted from the lamp assembly, to a display device. The lamp assembly is laterally contacted with the light guiding plate. A cover bottom(104) is configured to contain the light guiding plate and the lamp assembly. A light guiding plate fixing member(150) is inserted between the light guiding plate and the cover bottom from the opposite direction of the lamp assembly. |
