PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid lubricant, a solid lubricant application device, and an image forming apparatus that can achieve both suppression of wear of the surface of an image carrier and suppression of wear of a cleaning blade cleaning the image carrier.SOLUTION: There is provided a solid lubricant 107 that is used in an image forming apparatus 100 performing the steps of charging, exposure, development, and transfer, and is applied to the surface of an image carrier temporarily carrying a toner image, the solid lubricant containing a metallic soap including at least a fatty acid metal salt as the main component and a tetrafluoroethylene oligomer represented by the following general formula (1): CF3-(CF2-CF2)m-CF3, wherein m represents a positive number of from 5 to 500.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
