PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device which can avoid malfunction caused by the cyclical performance of serial communication with a plurality of paper feeders by the mainframe in a preset sequence. SOLUTION: When the necessity to perform communication relating to a command to feed papers with an optional feeder which is not subsequent to a currently communicating optional feeder arises, the image forming device makes the optional feeder perform communication with a printer body 1a subsequently to the currently communicating optional feeder.
