PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk device with a cleaning function which enables self-propelled type cleaning to be done by effectively utilizing an installation space even in a narrow space, without being regarded as wasting the installation space, and enables replacement of the optical disk anywhere regardless of the installation position of the device. SOLUTION: The optical disk device 1 has a cleaning function consisting of a main part 10 of the device and a charge base 40. And, the main part 10 of the device is arranged with an accommodation part for the optical disk, a disk drive means for reading or writing data from/to the optical disk, a travelling means for travelling the main part 10 of the device, a cleaning means for removing dust on a surface on which the main part 10 of the device travels and an interface for transmitting and receiving a signal with the charge base 40 by infrared transmission. The charge base 40 is arranged with a charge means for charging the main part of the device in a state where the main part 10 of the device is connected, an interface for transmitting and receiving the signal with the main part 10 of the device, and an external port for inputting or outputting an image signal and an audio signal.
