<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent water (a gravity liq.) from being contaminated when chlorine- contg. plastics are to be separated from waste plastics by means of a wet type gravity separator. SOLUTION: Waste plastics 10 are fed into a washing and mixing tank 2 by means of a conveyor 1 and are agitated by means of an agitator 3 and are washed and mixed with water (a gravity liq.). Then, a slurry consisting of the waste plastics and water is fed into a centrifugal gravity separator main body (a separating tank) 5 by means of a slurry feeding pump 4 and in accordance with gravity difference to water, it is separated into lightweight articles 7 being useful for reuse and heavy weight articles 6 contg. chroline-contg. plastics and they are respectively discharged from discharge outlets. By feeding adsorbing members 9 (papers, fabrics, yarn wastes, wood wastes, active carbon, etc.), on the conveyor 1, the adsorbing members 9 adsorb contaminants stuck on the waste plastics and contaminants dissolved or dispersed in water and while the contaminants are filtered from a heavy weight articles 6 side or a lightweight articles side of the centrifugal gravity separator main body 5, they are discharged with the heavy weight articles 6 or the lightweight articles 7. The water is prevented thereby from being contaminated.</p> |
