The busbars have supporting rails (12,14) joined to a profiled strip of metal exhibiting high resistance to wear. The ends of two neighbouring busbars (10) are conductively joined together after being bent away from their central axis (M) and placed parallel to each other. In this position the strip at one end is approximately in line with the strip running outside the end of the other busbar. The ends are interconnected by bolts (36) and nuts (38) through elongated holes (32) allowing relative movement in the axial direction.
