A display device is provided to prevent afterimage from occurring because of impurity flow by blocking the flow of impurities between pixel areas by using an insulating layer pattern protruding between a first substrate and a second substrate. A first substrate(100) and a second substrate(200) face each other. Gate lines and data lines(140) intersect each other on the first substrate and define pixel areas. An insulating layer pattern(400) protrudes between the first substrate and the second substrate on one of the first substrate and the second substrate to correspond to at least one of the gate line and the data line. A pixel electrode is formed in the pixel area and a part of the insulating layer pattern is formed under the pixel electrode. |
