PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recording sheet improving a color developability and an absorbability and having a high gloss. SOLUTION: The ink jet recording sheet comprises an ink acceptive layer containing alumina and a thermoplastic material and provided on an uppermost layer of the ink acceptive layer on a support. The ink acceptive layer is re- swelled by a swelling liquid, then press contacted with a heated specular roll, and dried. Further, the support is preferably coated or impregnated with a magnesium salt of 0.5 to 5.0 g/m<2> per one side surface. As the alumina, a Boehmite-like or pseudo-Boehmite-like alumina hydrate is preferred to be used. As the thermoplastic material, a cationic acrylic emulsion or a cationic acrylic polymer is preferred to be used. A coating amount of the ink acceptive layer is preferred to be 10 to 40 g/m<2> . |
