FRICTION AGITATION JOINING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve controllability for a pressing load of a friction agitation joining tool.SOLUTION: At corner parts c1 and c2 between a first work-piece W1 and a second work-piece W2 are arranged friction agitation joining tools 3a and 3b comprising probes and fixed type shoulders. A joining device main body 2 has a structure where main shaft units 7a and 7b holding the friction agitation joining tools 3a and 3b respectively are supported on a frame 10 through shaft orthogonal direction movement units 11 and 13 that are moved in a direction orthogonal to rotary shafts of the probes and shaft direction movement units 12 and 14 that are moved in a direction parallel to the rotary shafts of the probes. Pressing loads to be applied to the friction agitation joining tools 3a and 3b are controlled only by outputs of the shaft direction movement units 12 and 14.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
