The flat battery (1) includes: - an elementary electro-chemical cell (100) including plane electrodes (16,18) of opposite polarity respectively fitted with contact zones (26,28); - an envelope (40), containing the cell (100), formed from a thin flexible electrically insulating film which forms an effective seal between the cell constituents and external agents. The envelope (40) has substantially plane walls (40A,40B) and sealed peripheral closure zones (41,42) with sealed passages for the contact zones (26,28); - external pressure units are applied to the envelope (40) to maintain the electrolyte in the cell (100) at a specific pressure; - electrical input/output contacts are fitted to metallic tongues (36,38) which are respectively connected to the contact zones (26,28) of the electrodes (16,18) at the interior of a sealed contact zone (42A) of the envelope (40). |
