PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin composition excellent in dispersibility, transparency and shielding property against a specified wavelength, wherein physical property deterioration due to a decrease in the molecular weight of a polyester resin or a polycarbonate resin is suppressed, and a molded product. SOLUTION: The resin composition comprises the polyester resin or the polycarbonate resin and a metal oxide particle having a surface coating layer. The metal oxide particle having the surface coating layer has a first coating layer formed on a surface of a particle and a second coating layer formed on the first coating layer. The first coating layer comprises at least one oxide of a substance chosen from silicon, aluminum and zirconium, the second coating layer comprises an organic acid, and the particle comprises an oxide of a metal chosen from cerium, zinc and titanium and has an average particle size of 0.001-0.1μm.
