PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toner for electrostatic image development excellent in color reproducibility of an obtained image including OHP transparency, excellent also in charging property, causing no toner flying-off in a machine, free of problems of fluidity, blocking, etc., and capable of stably giving developed images of good quality over a prolonged period of time. SOLUTION: In the toner for electrostatic image development including at least a binder resin and a colorant, the colorant is coloring particles having an average particle diameter of 10-100 nm obtained by physically fastening a pigment by a mechanochemical method on surfaces of silica particles subjected to no surface treatment.
