PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and method for initialization of a mobile communications terminal, where the time for initialization is reduced, based on the comparison result of an IMSI (International Mobile Subscriber Identity) of a SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) card and the IMSI stored in the terminal, and thereby improving the user-friendliness. SOLUTION: The method for initialization of the mobile communications terminal comprises a step in which first information stored in the SIM card is compared with second information stored to storage equipment of the terminal; and if there is matching, the terminal is initialized by using fourth information, regarding the initialization of the terminal stored in the storage equipment of the terminal.
