METHOD FOR PERFORMING HANDOVER, USER EQUIPMENT, BASE STATION, AND RADIO COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute handover during radio communication having carrier aggregation without imparting large impact to an existing system or apparatus.

SOLUTION: There is provided a method for performing handover of user equipment from a first base station to a second base station, the user equipment performing radio communications on a communication channel formed by integrating a plurality of component carriers. The method includes: a step for degenerating the number of component carriers configuring the communication channel between the user equipment and the first base station into one before starting random access from the terminal device to the second base station; and a step for trying random access from the user equipment to the second base station for the one component carrier after the degenerate.
