PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bone salt quantity measuring apparatus enabling simple bone salt determination which can be widely used for medical examinations with less burdens even for an elderly person or the like and realizing measurement accuracy which can be utilized for early detection of osteoporosis and follow-up for treatment. SOLUTION: The bone salt quantity measuring apparatus for photographing the X-ray image of an object H and measuring the bone salt quantity of the object H on the basis of obtained image data is provided with an X-ray source 8 for irradiating the object H with X-rays, an X-ray detector 11 for recording the X-ray image corresponding to the irradiated X-ray dose and a water tank 30 for holding a liquid object 31 for including the object H during photographing. The X-ray source 8 is a molybdenum anode X-ray tube, and the X-ray detector 11 is arranged such that a dynamic range is 3 digits or more and a distance from the object H is 15 cm or more.
