A backlight unit and an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) having the same are provided to prevent generation of impurities caused by friction between a light guide plate and a main support and prevent separation of an optical sheet, and omit an existing pad attaching process, thereby improving productivity by reducing costs and work time. An LCD comprises an LC panel(150), a main support(148) for laminating the LC panels, a lamp(130) for providing light to the LC panel, a light guide plate(136) for inducing light from the lamp, and a reflecting plate(138). The reflection plate is attached to a lower part of the light guide plate, reflects the light from the lamp to the LC panel, and prevents friction between the light guide plate and the main support by being extended between an upper part of the light guide plate and the main support. |
