摘要 The present invention relates to an automatic belt tensioner for an engine, and more specifically, to an automatic belt tensioner for an engine having a simple structure, a small size and allowing reduction of weight and manufacturing costs. To achieve this, the automatic belt tensioner for an engine, which automatically controls tension of a belt for transferring rotational force between an engine and an auxiliary component, comprises a tensioner body, a tensile spring, a first damping shoe, a second damping shoe, a first arm, a second arm and idlers. The tensioner body is mounted on an engine side and has an interior space. The tensile spring has a coil spring-shape and is installed in the inner space of the tensioner body. The first damping shoe and the second damping shoe are coupled to one end part and the other end part of the tensile spring, respectively. The first arm has a hinge part formed on one end thereof to be coupled to the first damping shoe. The second arm has a hinge part formed on one end part thereof to be coupled to the second damping shoe. The idlers are mounted on the first arm and the second arm, respectively, to be rotated and support the belt. A first hinge part functioning as a rotational center of the first arm and a second hinge part functioning as a rotational center of the second arm are concentrically arranged and coupled to the tensioner body to be rotated.
