摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently absorb and remove an acid component in a UV- decomposed gas by using an alkali agent which is easily handled and inexpensive and to easily maintain and control the device by designing such an absorbing device that water in specified pH is sprayed on a solid packing material essentially comprising calcium carbonate. SOLUTION: A gas containing org. chlorine compds. is introduced into a UV ray reaction tower 1 where the gas is irradiated with UV rays to produce carbon dioxide, hydrogen chloride, acid chloride, phosgene, chlorine, etc., as the photolytic products. The discharged gas from the UV ray reaction tower 1 is introduced into an absorption tower 2 which is packed with a solid packing material (a calcium carbonate packing material) and in which water in pH>5 preferably 5 to 9 is sprayed on the calcium carbonate packing material. In the absorption tower 2, the UV-decomposition products in the gas are removed by hydrolysis and neutralization. Thus, the acid component in the UV- decomposed gas can be efficiently absorbed and removed.</p>
