<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brake and shift operating device in which odd feeling does not occur in shift operation. <P>SOLUTION: The brake and shift operating part 110a can operate a brake device 107f and a derailleur 97r and includes a bracket 30, a brake lever 32, a gear shifting mechanism 34, a take-up lever 36, and a connecting mechanism 40. The bracket can be fixed to a drop handle 112 of a bicycle. The brake lever is pivotally connected to the bracket about a first axis X1 between an initial position and an operating position. The gear shifting mechanism is mounted on the bracket and is capable of operating the derailleur into any one of a plurality of gear positions. The take-up lever is pivotally connected to the gear shifting mechanism about a second axis X2 and actuates the gear shifting mechanism. The connecting mechanism interconnects the brake lever and the take-up lever together such that the take-up lever pivots about the second axis X2 in response to the brake lever being pivoted about the first axis X1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
