ANTI-NEOPLASTIC AGENT COMBINATION THERAPY AND METHOD OF ADMINISTRATION THEREOF

A method for treating malignant gliomas that express a receptor for IL-13 is provided. The method involves inserting at least one catheter directly into a target tissue and administering a targeted antineoplastic agent to the target tissue under positive pressure through the catheter into the target tissue. The targeted anti-neoplastic agent is administered for a predetermined period of time such that cells that express a receptor for IL-13 in the target tissue are exposed to the targeted anti-neoplastic agent, thereby resulting in cell death. The method also involves removing the catheter from the target tissue and applying external beam radiation therapy to the target tissue with administration of temozolomide concurrently with the radiation therapy.
