PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a side wall of a wound roll is not straight but inclined because a force in a lateral direction occurs when glass ribbon is wound.SOLUTION: In a roll (10) of a glass ribbon (20) having the thickness of 0.3 mm or below, an interlayer (40) made of a flexible material is wound together with the glass ribbon in a thickness direction. A characteristics of the interlayer is selected so as to minimize a deviation (9) in a lateral direction formed in the roll. For example, a coefficient of static friction between the interlayer and the glass ribbon may be 3.0 or more (measured at vertical force 0.5N). As other characteristics, the width, thickness, and compliance of the interlayer can be included. Further, a method for winding the glass ribbon is disclosed, roll winding parameters of, for example, web tension and pressure between roll layers are selected so as to minimize the deviation in the lateral direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
