PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the operability of a bacteria detecting tool, simplify the discarding work of used parts and the assembling work and reduce the cost. SOLUTION: This bacteria detecting tool is provided with a bottom-closed cylindrical transparent vessel 2 having an inner space 5 closed with a sealing member 6 and holding a culture liquid 4 containing an indicator for the detection of the change in culture and with a cylindrical holder 3 having openings 3a and 3b formed on each longitudinal end of the vessel opposite to the sealed ends of the transparent vessel 2 and holding a bacteria-collecting tool 7 for impregnating an agent to suppress the growth of unspecified bacteria into the bacteria-collecting part 7a. A lid 9 for closing the inner space 5 by the attachment to the opening 3a of the transparent vessel 2 is placed in the holder 3, the holder is provided with a holding part 9 for holding the bacteria-collecting tool 7 at a position to immerse the bacteria-collecting tool 7a into the culture liquid 4 in the attached state of the opening 3a and further provided with a sharp part 11 to break the sealing part 6 by inserting into and pressing against the opening 3b of the transparent vessel 2.
