PURPOSE:To enhance the quality of ink jet recording by adding a compd. represented by a predetermined formula to the coating material applied to a medium to be recorded before applying recording to the medium to be recorded by recording ink. CONSTITUTION:A compd. represented by formula (wherein R<1> and R<2> are a 12 hydrogen atom or an alkyl group and may form a ring, Z is a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a nitro group, a cyano group or an alkylsulfone group and n is a natural number) is added to the coating material applied to a medium to be recorded used in ink jet recording. The average polymerization degree of this compd. is set to 150-4000 and the content thereof is set to 0.5-40wt.%. The coating material 2 is put in a container 1 and high pressure gas of a cylinder 5 is sent to a coating head 4 to eject the coating material 2 to perform coating. By this method, a coating film having proper solubility is formed. |
