<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent deterioration in image quality, an increase in data quantity to be embedded in image data and scale-up of a file in embedding optional data into the image data. <P>SOLUTION: In a data inserting device, a data inserting section 15 embeds every bit one by one from the head of a bit sequence of data, into the least significant 1 bit of each of values from a quantization representative value R1(Z) of Y-component image data at which embedding of the bit of optional data to be inserted starts to a quantization representative value R1(Y) at which the embedding of the bit sequence finishes (0≤Z≤m≤Y≤X≤63). The Yth coefficient position at which data insertion finishes is a coefficient position (Y=X-1) being one before the original EOB. Preferably, a second quantization step Q2(m) is not more than 1/2 of a first quantization step Q1(m), and more preferably, it is 7<SP>-1/2</SP>of the Q1(m). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
