PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internally threadable fishing rod improved in productivity through avoiding the respective slacks of bands and release tapes wound on a metallic core and thereby improving the prepreg sheet winding operability for making a rod pipe, and to provide a method for producing the above fishing rod. SOLUTION: This internally threadable fishing rod is so designed that the inner circumferential surface of a rod pipe body 1 is furnished with a layer 2 which is made by helically and densely winding cross tapes 2x each composed of reinforcing fibers with a modulus equal to or lower than that of those in prepreg sheets for making the rod pipe body 1, and a fishline guide 3 is integrally provided via the layer 2 on the inner circumferential surface of the rod pipe body 1.
