PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a wear state of a trolley wire with high accuracy while preventing the trolley wire from being broken at an overlap place.SOLUTION: For a trolley wire wear detection device 1, a tension resistance auxiliary body 2 which is parallel with a trolley wire T1 (T2) and has a predetermined length is fixed on and along the trolley wire at an overlap place by using an ear 3, and the auxiliary body 2 is made of a material which is lightweight and has high tension resistance performance. An optical fiber 4a of a strain sensor 4 which detects tensile strain of the auxiliary body 2 is fixed in the auxiliary body 2 by penetrating along the length. When the trolley wire T1 (T2) decreases in sectional area owing to its wear, the tension that the auxiliary body 2 is in charge of instead of the trolley wire T1 (T2) increases and tensile strain is thereby generated in the optical fiber 4a as well as the auxiliary body 2, so the strain sensor 4 detects the wear state of the trolley wire T1 (T2) by making good use of the generation of the tensile strain. A measuring instrument 6 including a strain measurement part of the strain sensor 4 is fitted onto a column P1 where the trolley wire T1 (T2) is anchored. |
