PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary-drum filter capable of filtering and sterilizing in one device and maintaining costant sterilizing efficiency. SOLUTION: A freely rotatable rotary drum 2 provided with a filter cloth on its periphery is set in a filter tank 1, raw water is introduced into the rotary drum 2, and the drum 2 is rotated to filter the raw water. For this rotary-drum filter an electrochemical sterilizing means 5 is furnished in the storage part 4 for the water filtered by the drum 2.
