A transmission apparatus for an automobile or the like includes: a transmission gear mechanism (20) including, therein, a speed-reducing small gear (22a,) at one axial side of an input shaft (21); a final driving mechanism (25) including, therein, a speed-reducing large gear (26) at the same axial side of the input shaft (21); a casing (10) including: a first chamber (S1); a second chamber (S2); a first inner surface (10a); a second inner surface (10b); and a casing rib (16); and a wall (18) which is positioned between the first inner surface (10a) and the end surface of the speed-reducing large gear (26) facing the first inner surface (10a); the wall (18) including: a lower portion (18b); and an edge portion (18c), and the wall (18) underlying, with a slight spacing, the end surface of the speed-reducing large gear (26) that faces the first inner surface (10a). |
